Frankie update.

Just a quick update from our boy Frankie!  He went home a while ago, a successful adoption at a John Gagnon's dog house adoption event.

Hi just had to say hello and give you a Frankie update.  He's awesome and doing really well. Im in love, and so are all my neighbors they all want to watch him when we go away!!!!  Loves to walk constantly and we do!!! He put on a little weight but the vet is very happy with him. Also met the guy who walked him, he lives near me...small world. Hope all is well with you. Thanks again, you and Frankie changrd my life!

And a photo for you to remember this cute boy.

Tucker is off!

Great news for Tucker.  He went home last week and is already enjoying home life.  I am happy to share the first update from his new home!

Things are going well with Tucker. I think he has acclimated himself to our home and routines. He seems to be very content here and has already found his favorite spot on the couch when we are watching TV or movies. He has even learned to eat his food in one sitting after Buddy started helping himself to what he left behind with the first feeding. He hasn’t had any stomach issues at all and we have been giving him the same treats as Buddy gets and have even mixed in some of Buddy’s puppy food to see if he can tolerate something new. He and Buddy get along great already. They have been sharing toys and even sleep in the same bed sometimes during the day after they play and wear each other out. He has done well with my son’s friends that stayed over this weekend and my father-in-law, who stops by daily. He is such a good boy he even asks to go outside when he needs to go potty, something we are still working on with Buddy. Today we are going to go to Petco to fit him for a harness so we can go on longer walks. I don’t know if he has ever gone “shopping” before, but I am sure he will like it. He was great in the car on the ride home, so I don’t think he gets as nervous as Buddy does in the car. I think he is already teaching Buddy to relax and not bark at every leaf that blows by the window too. Either that or they have been so busy that Buddy doesn’t notice the leaves anymore. He is a great addition to our family!
Thanks,

Joy

And some photos!

Riley aka Melanie Update! Another happy kitty from POA

It is almost three months later and "Riley" has become irreplaceable.  Within just a few hours of arriving, made herself at home.  She is an adorable little girl who just wanted to be loved, and has found a real home with me.  Thank you again for your help in the placement process - I can't imagine my home without Riley in it.  Thank you again - keep up the wonderful work that you do!  Sincerely, Gayle

Ben now Kemba Update!

I renamed Ben as Kemba after a basketball player who played at Uconn when I went there.  He is eating great, and is a bundle of energy.  When he isn't running all over the place hi is sleeping on my lap.  He has been such a delight to live with. Thanks, Rob

Max Update! another happy POA Kitty

He is an absolutely fabulous kitty! Max, on right, is very affectionate, he follows me all over the house always looking for a belly rub and likes to be held and touched. He gets along great with my 3 year old kitty
Lil Gurl (LG), who now runs around the house with Max as if she is a kitten herself. He's also cool with the dogs, hasn't taken a swipe at them, but tends to stick close by my other cat rather than mingling with the canines.
Max is such a healthy beautiful cat; he's quite active, with acrobatic jumps and leaps, he flies around the house like the wind, so I often call him "Mad Max". His appetite is good, he is sleek and muscular with a glossy coat. When he looks up at me, you can see the tips of his fangs sticking out a little, its really cute.
I'm so happy with him, he is truly a member of my family and I love
him dearly!    Best Wishes, Lisa

Tom and Jerry Update!

Thank you all for the work that you do in helping these cats.  They have taken to each other and have been playing and cuddling all weekend!  They are both very sweet and loving animals and my family could not be happier with our adopted cats!  Thanks again!  Chris

Mylo Update!

I would like to let you know that MYLO is doing EXTREMELY well. At first he was skeptical of his new surroundings, but quickly adapted. His initial listing on the website said he was a shy cat, but since we gave him his new home, he came out of his shell and became considerably social to both us, our other cat, and friends of ours he's never met. He loves to play with his older sister, and the two of them have become great friends. They play "cat and mouse" all day, share toys, snuggle together in the bed, but they also respect each other's space and there have been no fights between them. During the day he adores laying on our bed in the sunlight, and his motor never stops running. He loves being brushed with a grooming mitt, and being loved on in general.  His favorite thing is giving kisses and head boops! He is a little piglet, and there have been no problems with food or using the litter box.  We want to thank you again for the services you do to protect the sovereignty of these animals, and for giving us our favorite little boy!

Dallas Update!

Dallas is doing great and wiggling right into our hearts.  He seems to be very happy and comfortable here and gets LOTS of attention.  He is doing well with his positive reinforcement training and the trainer is impressed with how intelligent he is.  Warmly Colleen

Sheldon aka Willie Update!

Willie is quite the character.  He loves to look at himself in the mirror.  He sits when he eats.  He was a terrible bed hog so we had to get a crate.  Last night was the 1st time and he did great.  He also loves snow - running thru it and eating it.  He seems to love his new home and is a happy little dog.  Ann

Oscar in Santa Suit Update!

Oscar is really enjoying his weekly visits to the nursing home.  He wore his Santa Clause suit this week and the residents eyes just about bulged out of their heads.  He gets such a warm welcome when he comes through the doors.  He is so very affectionate and even has a place on the nurses bulletin board from his pictures.  One nurse tells me each week that she wants an "Oscar" - like there could ever be another one like him.  Here he is in his Santa suit!  Fondly, Sue

Badger aka Dodger Update!

Milky & Nilla aka Ivory & Cassidy Update!

Things are going AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!  I couldn't have hoped things could go this well.  Right from the start the dogs were interested in them. There hasn't been a single bark, growl, hiss or swat. Only playful swatting :) Spunky has been playing with Ivory (black spot on nose) He's been so good with them. Things are going fantastic.  Thank you so much for showing them to me yesterday. I really appreciate it. I didn't even expect to get a cat and it was such a nice surprise to come home with 2. We love them. They add a level of fun to the house and lots of stress to the birds haha. Ivory is the more outgoing one and Cassidy is the shyer one who sometimes hides.  I appreciate the time you spent making sure I got the right ones for our family.  Laura

Bud at Christmas

I can't believe that it has been almost two years since we adopted Bud (the dog on the right).  It took us forever to get them still for this photo - but he is doing well as you can see.  He has become quite the lap dog at our house.

Have a good holiday!  Elizabeth

Hobbs the Kitty Update!

He is a wonderful cat and he continues to grow and expand his horizons with us. Thank you for such a special boy!

Update on Mango and Theodore!

The kitties are doing great with my mom.  She says they are still a bit shy and mostly hiding during the day, then exploring at night. They are always together and when they lose track of one another they'll cry till they find the other.  Progress is being made.  She says that Theodore found his way onto her bed last night and slept with her and purred all night.  I'm sure Mango will come around soon.

Thanks again for your help with them. She says it is obvious they need each other so we're really glad they got a home together. They have a nice, big quiet home with lots of love!!  Jill

Suzie...another happy POA pooch!

Some news from Suzie's new mom.

Sorry for the delay, but here are some pictures of Suzy! I still need to remember to bring the camera outside with me on a walk, since she's in her element out there :-)

- Pink piggy is one of her favorite toys (along with a tennis ball and snoopy!)
- And helping me rest and recover - she's so cuddly!
- Cute pup

I'll send more along another time of her outside adventures!

Skippy is happy in his new home!

Check out Skippy in his new home.  He is so comfortable.  His mom says he loves sleeping under the covers and is very affectionate.  Also it turns out he loves to sleep on his back which is evident in some of the photo's she has sent us.  Skippy is still settling in but seems to be fitting in just fine.

Happy Updates - Gracie, Sabrina & Roxy

Thank you for the opportunity to adopt such a loving cat. Gracie has been a great addition to our little family. As you can see in the pictures our older cat Izzy and Gracie have really grown on each other. Gracie loves chasing Izzy around. Gracie is adapting very well. She is eating well and is very happy :). Thank you again. Chris and I could not be more excited to have Gracie in our lives.

Thank you so much for checking in with us about Sabrina (now named Sweet Pea). She is adjusting wonderfully to her new cat brother, still is still a little shy around our dog though. I am sure that will take a bit for her. We are so happy to have her and she is such a love bug and fantastic addition to our family. We adopted her just in time for her to make it onto our family xmas card!

I will attach some pictures that you might like. Even though we live in MA we were so impressed by your facility that if we were to adopt in the future don't be surprised to see us again! I will be sure to tag any upcoming pics and updates as she matures into a wonderful cat.

I just wanted to write and give you an update on our adoption Roxy! She is doing extremely well and felt right at home after her first day. She has a big brother named Jack and I've attached a few pictures to share.
We kept her name as is, it suited her well and she is very happy in her new home :)
We are so happy to have her in our family!!
