Maple

Maple is still doing really well. She is roaming the whole house now and has taken some exploratory quick walks onto my lap on the couch. She is very affectionate and loves playing with the Cat Dancer. She still gets nervous and runs if I move quickly or approach her in the middle of the room, but she recovers right away and improves every day. I think she is very happy here.

Chesney aka “Will”

Chesney aka “Will” is a wild man, he certainly has all the characteristic of a Bengal. He’s doing fantastic and becoming a big boy! He’s also doing amazing with our daughter minus trying to steal her pacifiers all the time! He’s even grown to like the dog and they chase each other around. He’s so entertaining to watch! And very mischievous.

Lucku a.k.a Butters

Lucky (now Butters, short for Butterscotch) seems to be adjusting well to his new home.  He is still hiding, but starting to come out more and explore the house.  He is tarting to make friends with his new brother Boo Boo.  They both seem curious and a little scared of each other with no sign of any aggressive behavior.  He's not quite sure what to make of me yet - LOL!

Scooter (now called Luke)

Scooter (now called Luke, as in Cool Hand Luke) has adjusted very well & very quickly.  We gated off the top of the stairs from the family room & laundry room level up to the kitchen. He respected the gate until Sun AM when he jumped over the gate & decided he was ready to explore the rest of the house. He's at the point where he has stolen my seat on the downstairs couch & loves to be close to both Phil & I by lying in our desk wells while we are at our desks. Initially, he would call out to us if we moved to a different room, but was fine once we answered him. Manny was right, he loves to follow you around. Today he seems to be more comfortable & secure in his new home as he wanders off to do his own thing.

Zora

Zora has been amazing ever since we got home, she has been looking around and getting used to her surroundings but she has let all of use pet her. She seems to not be bothered by the 5 year olds and he’s craziness. We all love her.

Scoops, renamed Milo

Scoops, renamed  Milo is the most loveable and gentle cat. I've gotten him involved in becoming a therapy pet for senior citizen homes. Everyone that's ever met him falls instantly in love.
He's now a Chicago kitty and has a love for bandannas.

Ghillie and Treble (formerly merry and mistletoe)

Ghillie and Treble (formerly merry and mistletoe) are doing well. They are full of energy playing with tons of toys, as well as chasing raindrops on the glass slider. They are exploring around the house and being cuddly.

Obi & Leia

Obi & Leia have adjusted perfectly.  They are the most amazing kittens & we are just smitten with them!  They are so playful & so cuddly & loving & purring machines!
Since we are big Star Wars fans as well, we have decided to keep obi’s name, and leia is now Rey (my oldest daughter is a huge Rey fan).  She has been spending all her time playing & cuddling with Rey.  She says she is also like her ray of sun shine.

Rusty and Snowball

We adopted Rusty and Snowball, children have renamed them Loki and Paddington respectfully.  Loki is the darker red head, as he is named for the redheaded Norse god of mischief.  Paddington Bear loves marmalade so they thought that was a good name for a marmalade cat.

They have settled in like they have always lived here.  We deeply thank their foster family for teaching them that human snuggles are great things. (Also we are thankful that they are perfect gentleman about their box.)
We are very happy that we got 2 siblings, as together they bring more joy to us watching them play, eat, sleep and “hunt”.   We are so glad for them that they got to stay together as the transition has been made easier by them having each other and the thought of them being parted makes us sad.

Here they are in our daughters bed “helping with homework”.

Huck

Huck has managed to almost do in a toy mouse he brought with him when he came, as well as two wand toys. He is delightful.  He waits until (almost) 6:00a.m. when the alarm goes off, then wakes us by sitting on our chests, purring loudly.  I get "Eskimo kisses".  Then he moves to his "dad's" chest and bites his nose very gently.  Dad also get toe kisses  before he puts his slippers on.  As I go about the house doing "stuff", he follows me like a puppy, usually purring.  He's full of energy and is almost always ready for a game of mousey.  He ends his day sitting on my lap, purring, in front of the television until he is too sleepy to stay awake, then he goes upstairs to wait for us.

Maple

Maple is doing well. She started letting me pet her just a bit last night and now she is head butting me, arching her back for me to scratch her body length, and even rolling over for belly rubs, purring the whole time. She just started walking around the room in my presence a few minutes ago and is spending time near the door, curious about the rest of the house.

She has made very significant progress in just a couple of days. I think soon enough she will be ruling the roost.

Mavis (previously Jewels)

We adopted a 4 month old kitten from POA at the end of August this year. Since you've seen her last, Mavis (previously known as Jewels), is now spending her days cuddling on her favorite fuzzy blanket, attentively watching birds outside from her favorite window-sill perch, and being spoiled by her grandma with fun new toys! She has grown from the tiny 4 lb kitten we brought home as into a healthy and strong adult. Mavis loves to play almost as much as she loves to nap, and she is fascinated by any kind of running water (she can't quite seem to figure out where it goes when it runs down the drain, and we sometimes catch her just staring into the bathroom sink). Above all else, she is very loved and we, her new parents, are lucky to have her. Mavis is the sweetest, most well-behaved, charming, and loving cat I have ever known. We would like to thank you all at POA and the foster parents for the amazing work you do.

Claire

To my dear family at POA, Martha, Manny and the rest of the staff
I want to thank you for helping me get to my new forever home. I am enjoying my new digs; especially my window where I watch the birds at their feeder. My scratching post and hammock are pretty cool too. Lucy the dog doesn't bother me but I don't quite like her yet. Maggie and Mr. Brad think I am the bee's knees whatever that means. I wrap my self around their legs and purr a whole lot. They like when I do that. They love me lots and are taking good care of me. My new momma calls me her Kitty Girl but I am still your Claire.

Colette, now named Chloe

Colette, now named Chloe, has fully adjusted to our family. She and our male cat Crookshanks (who is about 7) are very fond of each other.  It had taken less than 48 hours for them to get acquainted.  Chloe is doing very well with her active playfulness and hefty appetite.
