Kesha is doing very well. We have renamed her Scout and she jumped right into the family without missing a beat. She’s been laying in the sun, exploring, sleeping with my son. She is in heaven. Kesha turned out to be the perfect fit for us.

Missy
Getting Missy was the BEST thing I could have done for Prince, They are a perfect match. He has come out of his shell, he is a different cat altogether!! I can't believe it!! He's so happy now, its unreal. I think he feels a little on top because he was here first, but he is in love with Missy. They play hide and seek, chase each other, its so beautiful. Missy sleeps with me and stays with my mother in the chair and loves to watch the squirrels and birds. She is an absolute perfect cat. Perfect

Bowie napping with his new black and white sister Maisy
Bowie LOVES to stretch out on a rug in front of the warm fire and will often hop up on the hearth and just sit and stare through the firescreen when there’s no fire lit, almost like he’s willing something to remedy it! This boy has a crazy high vertical jump – it is the most amazing launch into the air, possibly enabled by his double-pawed feet? He is also an awesome catcher of crumpled balls of tinfoil. Our other cat catches too, so we have lots of catch and fetch time, and its interesting how patient they are with each other as we alternate throwing to them. Bowie has so easily and happily settled into his new home.

Teddy
Teddy is doing well! My cat Keishi likes him already and is trying to get him to engage, no growling, hissing, spitting, or any of that, he is being a good big brother. Teddy has found refuge for the time being in a clean, covered litter box. Keishi keeps popping his head in to check on him and he does not look stressed. I am giving him all the space he needs. Teddy is now leaning INTO me when I pet him!!! I thought I might have heard/felt a couple of purrs too. Starting this morning he has starting to explore the bathroom and get out of that closet space this morning! Him and Keishi have been together in my bathroom all afternoon and he is able to come out to bedroom if he wants.

Charcoal
Charcoal is doing really well! We spent his first few hours together in my bathroom so he could get used to having company. He was very mellow, let me pet him, and fell asleep. He spent the whole first night in the bathroom, but was anxious to explore by Saturday morning. He hasn't gone downstairs to the rest of the apartment, but he's wandering between my bathroom and bedroom upstairs.
He has spent Saturday and today mostly under the bed during the daytime, but he comes out occasionally to rub against my legs and roll over for a belly rub. He came out in the night last night and was very enthusiastic and sought out lots of attention. I'm sure within at few days he'll realize that the top of the bed is much more comfortable than the underside!
His food, water, and litter box are all still in the bathroom, and he pops right out from under the bed when it's mealtime. He's eating well and using the box no problem.
All in all I think he's doing really well and I think this is an ideal fit. I'm so happy that he likes the attention and I hope he continues to adjust so well. I want to wait to move his food and litter until he's explored downstairs voluntarily, so we'll probably spend the next few days hanging out upstairs. Who knows, he may explore when I go to work tomorrow and he has the place to himself.
Thank you so, so much for all of your help in this process. I really think Charcoal and I are going to be excellent together. He's such a sweet boy.

Joel

Hi POA Family! - I'm starting to enjoy my new home. Just like we thought, when I first got here I ran and hid under a desk for the first night, but I just couldn't resist having my belly scratched and the smell of treats. So here I am today, walking around my room for the first time. I'm starting to warm up!

Sasha and Belinda
Just a little update on how Sasha and Belinda are doing! They're getting along great, if Belinda isn't washing herself she's washing Sasha and of course Sasha can only tolerate this for so long. They wrestle all afternoon and sleep all morning, only after they've woken me up to feed them though. The also love to run around in the middle of the night making all kinds of noise playing together, I swear Sasha never runs out of energy! We've started calling Belinda, Pound Cake, since she's the heaviest densest cat I have ever picked up, she's definitely gained some weight since she left the shelter.

Peaches 'N Cream
Peaches and Buffy in my lap, something that happens every night
This feral cat was showing up at my doorstep daily so I started feeding her, making sure she had both wet and dry food. I named her Peaches 'N Cream. She never allowed me to get close to her. This went on for over a year and a half. After the loss of my beloved Rusty, I found myself wanting to save her and make her a part of my family. I called POA and Judy trapped her shortly thereafter for me. She was returned to me within a week, all set to go and spent about 6-7 weeks in the basement, not wanting to join me and my Princess Buffy Angora. Peaches had a bed of her own and a litter box in the basement she instinctively used. I would go downstairs and read to her every night, make eye contact (using the Jackson Galaxy eye blink), hoping she would get used to the sound of my voice and feel safe enough to venture upstairs.
Peaches at home, happy and healthy on the couch
It was News Year Eve when she finally made an appearance in the living room, in awe of the lights, the sound of the television, and a fire in the fireplace. Over time, she came to trust me and actually stay upstairs. I bought a cat tree for her to claw and she settled in Buffy's cat bed. Not to worry, Buffy has plenty of beds. Over time and with patience and love, Peaches is now a lap cat that loves to be petted and combed. She has no desire to even go outside; I think she knows how safe she truly is here. Both Peaches and Buffy settle in my lap every night and get along together. Buffy is 16 years old with a new buddy of her own. It's truly amazing that this feral cat is now a loving part of my family.
I have Judy and POA to thank for this,

Benny
We want to thank Benny's foster mom for taking such good care of him, he's a little less velcro now! He is the best snuggler, he even lets us hold him on his back like a
baby.
baby.
Jaden now Maggie
As you can see, Maggie has made herself very comfortable since taking over our home two months ago. She has a good appetite. When she is not sleeping, she can be very mischievous. She loves her toys. She is the first cat that I have had that wants her belly rubbed - very affectionate kitty. We were concerned that she might not get along with our chocolate lab, but our fears have disappeared. They are very tolerant of each other and get along just fine
We love Maggie and are very happy that she is part of our family. We recommend your facility to anyone looking for a new kitty.

Vanilla (a.k.a . Koko)
My husband and I would like to thank you for allowing Koko to adopt us.
He is a very special cat. He is so gorgeous/handsome and such a sweet gentle boy.
Koko is doing great. I have gotten lots of face bumps, and my husband has fed him dry food out of his hand. There has not been one hiss, growl or scratch from him.
We were given his bed to take home with us. He didn't go in that, but decided to use the Animal Planet brand larger squishy bed that is on a blanket chest in there. He has a window right there to look out of.
Yesterday he escaped from the room and headed downstairs and was face to face with his new sister Spyder. There was not one growl or hiss from either of them. He jumped into a couple of other cat beds to check them out then headed back up to hide in back of the big cedar chest on the top landing. That is where Spyder would hide when she needed to "get away".
Spyder is just like her new brother. She is shy and nervous when something is new or different. This was a match made in heaven.
I kept Koko in the bathroom last night and when I opened the door this morning, Spyder ran in. Koko was in his bed and they just looked at each other. I left the door open and as I was putting fresh food up there, Koko walked past me and went downstairs and looked around. There was another stare down, that's it. Back up he went.
Somehow he got the bedroom door open and went in there, under the bed, and came out when he was ready to.
We just adore him and are so thankful to have him as a part of our family.
Churchill
Churchill and I spent the afternoon in nearly complete silence in the TV room...reading and hiding for the first couple hours (you decide who was doing which thing). Then Churchill came out first to the chair by window and then to drop on my feet where he stayed for at least an hour; he even purred a little. Of course whenever I reenter the room, we have to go through the run and hide thing again, but he has plenty of time to get more confident.
It amazed me that he became semi-acclimated so quickly. I will continue to take things slowly and quietly. We will be a good match.

JOEL
Joel is semi-comfortable in "his" room. He has two beds in there and likes to use them. One of them was just upgraded to a new ped-pedic bed. Fancy! He sure does enjoy his massages, and lets us hold him while enjoying a belly rub, or 20. He always purrs during his time with us! He likes to move about the room and explore, but usually when we are not in there. However, treats are our friends in getting him to come out and say hello.

Mowgli
Mowgli likes it much better in a nice, quiet home with no other kitties. This way he doesn't have to share his humans with anyone! Mowgli had a very good Christmas, his grandparents bought him a kitty condo to play on! He also let his mom put an obnoxious bow on him on Christmas to make her happy. He loved sleeping under the Christmas tree while it was here and staring at the lights. He even put his bed under there by himself when mom and dad weren't looking! He loves drinking water out of the sink and even met a doggie who looks suspiciously like him through the back glass door. His favorite chore is 'helping' his mom make the bed. He loves to take naps with his dad, and also likes to play with the boring stick end of his very fancy feather toy. Mowgli is a very happy kitty at his new forever home.

Mariska
Mariska is the sweetest kitty ever; she is warm and affectionate and such a wonderful addition to our family! It took some time for her to feel comfortable and not hide under the bed, but day by day she is coming around and we’ve spent a lot of time working with her. She loves our dog Forest and he loves her too. He wants to play though, and she isn’t exactly ready for that. Taking pictures of Mariska hasn’t been easy, she’s still a bit small, maybe she will be a petite kitty.Suess
We adopted Suess from you just before Thanksgiving! He is very loving and has made a nice adjustment to our home. Our older cat likes/tolerates him better than other cats. The fact that he got sick just after we adopted him gave our older cat a chance to “know” him as a calm, docile thing and that certainly helped lay the foundation for a positive relationship between the cats. Suess is high energy and loves to play. He has cat iPad games for when we can’t take entertaining him anymore. He loves to play with feathers, and his dry food, and chase the lazer light….oh my he has a deep appreciation for cardboard and boxes….he really loved the holiday season!
