Simon

Simon is doing great. I don't know what  I would do without my little buddy! He has adapted very well and is very well behaved. I think he is very content and I am very happy to have him.

Ruby and Daphne

Ruby and Daphne are doing great. They look and sound really happy. It was just two days when Daphne was trying to show that she is the boss, but she does not even know how to fight so the fight turned into play. We found them sleeping together in a box. They do everything together and chase each other. They were meant to be together. Everybody is happy!!!

Armand now called Hobbes

In September we adopted Armand. We changed his name to Hobbes. Our hope was he would be a good playmate to Frenchie one of three older cats in our home. Hobbes has been a great addition,

Penny

We are all doing great and love having Penny in our family. The kids think she is just "so so cute" and remind me constantly of this. She has adapted well to our, at times, very hectic household but certainly is loving all the attention we give her. She had a great checkup with Dr. Gould at Double A Vet Hospital a few weeks ago and so we are pleased to say all is well!

Gabriella and Marisol

Dear Protectors of Animals

We wanted to say hi as we approach our 1 year anniversary of being adopted and we are doing great in our new home. We have lots of fun running around the house, especially the basement where we have our own little door we use to get in and out. We still love playing with our boxes and paper. Laser beams and string toys are our favorites and yes we occasionally get into mischief.  But we always put the best innocent look on our faces so that mommy and daddy have no idea what we are up to.

Thank you again for all your help in taking us in and helping us find our home.

Love G & M

Bella

We are very lucky to have rescued Bella (or "Bells" as we usually call her). She had a rough start in life and it was going to take some time to earn her trust. She clearly wanted human affection from day one, but after a bit of attention would quickly turn aggressive. She had been at the shelter for a long time; having not yet found the right home willing to take the time needed with her. We let her set her comfort level, never pushing her and letting her come to us when she felt it was safe. Within a week and a half the attacking had nearly stopped. At her new home with plenty of room, toys and love Bella has gotten comfortable and more affectionate with us as time goes on. I have never known a cat with such intelligence, you can almost see her brain working. After 2 days she had my morning routine down and would be waiting at the closet where the shirts hang before I turned the corner! She is alot of fun as well and has all the energy and playfulness you'd expect in a young cat. Thank you POA for helping to bring beautiful Bella into our lives!

Leonard a.k.a Duncan

Leonard now "Duncan" has gotten so big. He is almost 7 months. He has brought so much joy and fun into our house. Duncan loves to play with our 17 pound Main Coon Flurry, sleep next to us, play with his toys and fetch his leopard ball! It is hilarious. He has the biggest "rabbit feet" and is the best lap cat.

Lyla

Lyla has adjusted beautifully to life just around the corner on Broad St. I went to POA  "just to look". Went back a later time and a very nice volunteer, Mary, listened to my best friend and kitty sitter tell her how I really needed a nice cat with a good personality, since my past kitties were not always so nice to her when she watched them. Mary introduced us to a few who were all very nice and friendly. I still couldn't commit and said I'll come back. I felt like Lyla might the one to come home with me, but I was still "thinking" and said I might be back with a kitty carrier. A few hours later, I came back, and put my kitty carrier down. Lyla marched right over, looked up at me, crawled in and curled up. She chose me! Manny couldn't believe it, she never goes into carriers! After we came home, she hid under the couch for about an hour. But ever since she's been enjoying her snacks, relaxing on the couch, and watching the birds. She LOVES to play fetch and keeps me busy all evening playing. This girls wears her "heart on her sleeves"!

Nov 8 was one year at home and we had a little party

Sundae

Little Sundae is an absolute delight, she is adjusting well and happy. She talked the whole ride home, I'm sure she was just curious about where she was going. She is so playful and affectionate. She is slowly being introduced to her new sister, our little 9 year old Maltese Molly, during some supervised time together and they are getting along well together. We are also making sure both of them get plenty of one on one time with their mommy and daddy. Sundae is so curious about her new surroundings and has really gotten to know her way around and she of course knows right where to go for her food and water. She has lots of toys, her favorite being a small mouse and believe it or not, a little piece of cardboard she found somewhere. Sundae is so well adjusted and trusting.

Sami (aka Elton)

Elton, now named Sami  is doing very well. He loves his new bed and spends quite a bit of time there. He has a towel space on the sofa and immediately figured out that it was for him. He accepts petting and we've even had one episode of purring so far. All in all, he's quite content here.

Anko (a.k.a Tommy)

We renamed Tommy to "Anko" that is a traditional Japanese dessert that is dark in color, sweet and delicious. He is the sweetest cat ever! We know that it took true kindness for Tommy to reach us. I could tell how you truly care for the animals. I wanted to thank you for all your generosity and kindness. We promise to take really good care of him for many years to come.

Huey

Huey has adapted very well to living at my house and has been very gentle since i brought him home. His eating habits are perfectly fine and i have not had any trouble with him. I tend to call him "kitty" a lot now and he still loves to play and sleep on my bed usually on top of me while I am sleeping. He also loves sleeping
in pillow cases.

Basil (a.k.a Marle)

I received a voicemail checking in on "Merle" was adopted in early July and he has adjusted to his new home very well. He has been renamed Basil (like the plant). He is in good health and is enjoying the company of our small rat terrier, Lily. Basil and Lily are around the same height and really love to tussle and snuggle. They are two great pals!

Arwen aka Snickers

To the wonderful people whom I stayed with when I was little,

Here I am with my new friend Chyna. She looked scary at first,  but she just sniffed me and then let me snuggle with her.   My new family calls me Arwen,  it's a pretty name. I get lots of lap time when I want it, so that's good.   Hope the rest of my family found a good home too!

Signed
Arwen aka Snickers

Herbie formerly Louie

Louie is an absolute joy and has stolen our hearts (and the heart of one of his cat brothers too!) We had come in to the shelter looking for a long hair, adult female and left with the complete opposite! However, I know we ended up with the right one for our family! We renamed him Herbie, because he is truly a “love bug”. He wakes us every morning with kisses. He literally licks our faces and neck and snuggles in as closely as possible! It took him no time at all to adjust to life in our home. His favorite place to sleep is on the bed, preferably as close as possible to his people and his cats. He loves to play and loves to be held too. He especially likes his cat brother, Cooper. They play and sleep together often. Louie's other cat brother, Henry is not quite as loving with Herbie, but Herbie has not given up on him. He shares his love and attention with Henry often, with hope that he’ll come around eventually. We so enjoy our sweet boy!

Herbie sleeping directly on top of Cooper

Kia

I just wanted to  let you know how perfect Kia is!! She has adjusted so well and loves her new home. She is the most loving and sweet cat!

Beamer’s now named Larry

Larry looking very regal with his “brother”.
We changed Beamer’s name to Larry and he is living up to the name nicely.  He has a few favorite spots to lounge in the house but he hasn’t explored the entire house yet.  He is quite the cuddler and is very sweet.  He is eating well and drinking water.

Tiffany (A.K.A "Tiffie")

When I brought  Tiffany into the house she immediately walked over to the pink cat bed, got into it and said "O.K. this is my bed now." You can see she is quite relaxed in the second picture. She does play musical beds in the house, as with "Goldilocks" who said this bed is too hard, this bed is too soft, this bed is just right!! The "yawning" picture is one we never were able to catch with our other cats but after a hard day of sleeping she yawns quite frequently and were able to catch it.
She is the most gentle animal. She has never even put out a claw to us. She has the run of the house, follows me everywhere, and cries when I even go out to get the mail. She can look out of our sliding doors, watch the birds and chipmunks and whatever other creature that may be passing through. She is just starting to get used to getting up on our bed but hasn't quite decided to stay there with us for any length of time yet. I'm sure that will change especially when Ol' Man Winter arrives again.
Anyway we love her and as you can see the name Tiffany fits as she does have the life of a little princess.

Gordon & Zachary now Arnie & Franco

Here are some photos of the boys. They have turned into complete snuggle bugs. Franco [Gordon] has turned into quite the glutton! We had to stop giving them hard food since he was putting on the pounds and the vet recommended just giving them wet food. He's lost about 2/3 lbs since then. Arnie (Zach) used to hate being picked up, but now he looks forward to his morning pets and snuggles up to my neck.

Callie (Gidget)

Callie (formerly known as Gidget) has been doing well since coming home in October. Our other cat has not been enthralled with the new addition, but there is plenty of room for both of them and the dog. She's just as happy to have winter over, spending lots of time checking out the window views. Callie is very active and playful, enjoying her toys whether it's the laser point or aluminum foil balls. When she is worn out, she enjoys a good lap or snuggle, especially if it means some ear scratches.

Colbie, Ghost and Brie

Ghost and I thought we might send a quick email back to our extended family at POA. We paused our trip just about as soon as we got started toward our new home.It turned out to be a happy surprise, Petco. Our new parents pushed us around in the cart and we saw many new and beautiful things, also a few stinky dogs. We decided to just keep calm and enjoy the scenery, as the pretty woman seemed to be mostly in charge of what went on. We were almost out the door to the parking lot when the man went back to pick out a tree made of carpet and wood. The shopping cart was already too full and he had to lug it out to the car on his back amidst a series of moans and groans. When we got home, the pretty one cleared a spot in front of the window to make room for the tree. I didn't realize how smart she was until the big yellow ball in the sky made my fur and the carpet get warm, this morning. I think Ghost likes it very much too.
They have a blue plastic doughnut with a ball inside that defies all of our reasoning. Despite hours of trying, we have failed to remove the ball. It goes round and round with both of us swatting it, but as of this writing, the ball remains uncaught. We are happy for the scratching posts of which there are 3. We have used them intermittently to fool the tall ones into believing that their couch is safe from attack. We like the food here and find the water is as good POA. The litter in our pooping box is much softer here and we are happy for that.
We enjoyed watching TV from the couch last night while we sought near continuous petting. I doubt we will ever tire of the petting and we have been lucky to find a good set of petters. They have started calling my sister Brie. We are not sure if the name will stick so no protesting for now. We found our way into the bedroom this morning and climbed up onto the bed. It felt like walking on a cloud. We didn't spend that much time on the comforter as the pillows are even softer and warmer. I like to see how close I can get my butt to the man's face.
We are happy and like our new home. Tell Martha we are pooping and drinking water and she should not worry about us. We are tired of having our pictures taken but feel that they might slack off eventually. I have a date with the carpet tree and will sign off for now. We both are thankful for having you look after us for these past weeks. We are finally home.
Love,

Colbie

P.S. Do you know why the new people want to name us both after cheese?

Theodore a.k.a Geno

Theodore is doing well and is enjoying his new home.
